A: Students entering K-12 may enroll.
Q: Do children have to be in a special education program prior to attended The Grace School?
A: No, students from both general and special education backgrounds may enroll. A diverse group of learners are welcome, including students who often “fall through the cracks” in more traditional classroom settings.
Q: What is required to begin the admissions process?
A: After an initial online inquiry is made a tour is scheduled. The family then completes the online application for admission. Next, an observation and initial placement evaluation will be scheduled before your student is enrolled at The Grace School.
Q: How do I prepare for my child’s initial placement evaluation?
A: Complete the online admissions process prior to your child’s evaluation.
Q: How long does the placement evaluation take?
A: The initial evaluation typically takes 4-5 hours. Sessions are conducted during the school day.
Q: What does the evaluation measure?
A: The evaluation is an assessment of your child’s current development. It is performed by a credentialed ABA professional and helps our TEAM gain a thorough understanding of your child’s skills, case history, challenges and gifts. The results of the evaluation help to develop an instructional plan for your child. Currently in Arkansas, a primary care physician does not need to prescribe an ABA evaluation or reevaluation before it is performed.
Q: What happens after the placement evaluation?
A: Once the evaluation is complete, a follow-up meeting is scheduled to discuss the results and review recommendations. It may take several days for the evaluator to complete your child’s formal evaluation report.
Q: How long will it take to know if there is placement availability for my child?
A: If the parent wants to proceed with enrollment following discussion of the evaluation report, then the parent may be notified of a placement or waitlist status within 1 day to up to 2 weeks of the evaluation review meeting. If placed on our waitlist you will be notified as soon as a spot opens.
Q: Are transportation services provided?
A: The Grace School does not provide bus services. Parents are responsible for transportation.
