An Inside Look

Occupational Therapist Kelly Yates shares about her work with Grace School students.

As an occupational therapist, we work on daily occupations. This can include, but is not limited to, fine motor, visual motor, and daily living skills that are frequently used in the school setting.

As an out-patient therapist who sees a child 1-2 times per week, one can only hope for the type of collaboration The Grace School provides.

They have been open to suggestions of how to support my patients in their school environment, have given me feedback to help me target struggles and skills that I would not otherwise have knowledge of, and have assisted with continuous follow through at school of skills targeted in occupational therapy.

I have seen such an improvement in many aspects of my patients’ functions since starting at The Grace School.
